Golf “The cost/benefit analysis”.

There is a very useful method that many accountants use called “The cost/benefit analysis”. You may be familiar with it. The analysis is done to cut the company costs that do not provide a specific benefit. It’s done on all the different costs of the company, and then the accountants can then analyze which costs provide a lot of benefit, versus which costs provide little benefit. Then quite simply, the costs that provide little benefit are cut.

The golf swing is really quite complicated. Just as an example, we’ll use the wrist cock. In analyzing the golf swing, I found that the wrist cock at the top of one’s backswing produced great results for a few golfers. However, for the vast majority of golfers, it actually proved to cause MANY inconsistencies. Read the rest of this entry »

Ladies Golf Accessories: Because Sometimes, the Bling is the Thing

This will just look like another generic stereotype, but you ladies know, admit it: you all like to accessorize. Whether it is the perfect right hand ring for a night out, or the cutest tassels for your favorite golf shoes, we like to buy the little extras that make things just a little more personal. Of course, those little accessories can be the perfect gift for the lady golfer, no matter what level she is at, so give those hints to your family members!

Remember, your initial investments within your golf game should be in fairly decent clubs and for the beginner, possibly some lessons. Think of accessories as the extra bangles and baubles- not necessary, but a lot of fun to have. Yes, you do need golf balls, however, you do not need golf balls that have your name on them, albeit they are nice to have. Many companies also offer whimsical golf balls, with sayings and phrases, for example one very amusing version looks like a screaming face. While they may be cute and funny, they are not necessary to your game. The bag itself is a necessity, but if you have spent more on it than the clubs that it holds, it has drifted over to the realm of accessory. A straightforward, basic bag might be perfectly fine until your game improves, although upgrading clubs does not mean that you have to upgrade the bag as well.

Learning Golf Basics Is As Easy As Shouting Fore!

For any number of people, on any golf course, a game of golf is no more than striking a number of golf balls with whatever club and eventually stoping to drink, eat, and exaggerate about our game. I am very sure these people are enjoying the sport without ever learning any golf basics.

That is one group of golfer. There is another. The golfer that lives the game knows that it is impossible to really enjoy it unless you learn the basics. In business is may be: location, location, location but in golf basics it is practice, practice, practice.

Let us approach the game first by gathering all the gear. A big part of that game is the game in your head and patience. Watch a pro match and see the quite, talent and grace exhibited by the players. This effortless power takes the same amount of exertion as any other sport. The beginner learning golf basics must be patient and learn to take their time to line up each shot. They will learn to look ahead to the next hole and to the point of knowing what club is their best bet for that challenge.

Golf Is A Six Inch Game

If you are anything like me you love your golf game. It’s great to be a part of the game and once you have done that it’s great try and master it. We have some very advanced equipment and the players know how to use it. They also know how the six inch game works. I guess you could say it’s all a matter of attitude, confidence and state of mind.

You can train or be trained how to stand, hold the club, swing the club, strike the ball, and follow through and so on but no one can teach attitude and concentration. You can see it in all the greats. You’re all waiting for me to bring him up so I will, just watch Tiger and you will see how the six inch game is mastered. I’m not sure how Tiger does it but I can explain how it can be done.

Have you ever had a perfect putt, You felt it right? Everyone might think you were lucky on that 10 footer but you know you felt it all the way. You just knew from the time you swung the club just right that the speed was perfect and you had a feeling in your body and mind just before you took the shot that it was in all the way. Admit it you have felt this. Well that is six inch game. It’s in your state of mind.

You might be saying so what? Well here is so what! You know how to make the shot. You know what club to use and you know what swing will get the job done. You know this because you have felt it and done it before. Think of it in terms of a computer. You put all the needed information in a computer to attain a certain result. Once that information is there you can access the program and run it to get the same result every time.

Why Do Golfers Shout Fore?

Did you ever wonder why golfers shout FORE as a warning? This is what I found. Let us start with cadies, caddie or caddy. It is said that this term was developed an early British custom of having Royal Cadets carry the golf clubs of royalty. This apparently developed into the term a Caddie.

Like wise the term Fore has been explained as a term used by the military to warn friendly troops that you were going to fire a battery of weapons over their heads. It was a keep your head down warning.

The explanation I like the best and seems to make the most sense is the Fore-Caddie. These caddies, in the early days of golf, waited down range for the assigned golfer to hit his ball. Then the Fore-Caddie would be warned of the oncoming golf ball by a shout “Fore”. Keep in mind that many could not afford to play golf in the early days because of the price of a golf ball. You think they are pricey now well think of paying the equivalent of $50.00 or $75.00 per ball. Yikes!
