Cure Your Slice (Johnny Miller Video)
This message will be quick, but it’s a very important one. “The Simple Golf Swing” will correct any slicing or blocking of the ball that you experience. Believe it or not, part of the correction starts with the follow-through. Take a look.
A Word on Your Finish
The goal of the golf swing is to make solid impact with the ball. I think that everyone would agree there. However, don’t neglect a proper follow-through because the ball is already gone. You can actually correct many of the problems with your swing by analyzing your finish..
Here’s a quick check to get you started. Step up to a ball, take your regular swing, but hold your finish. Now look back at your forearms. What you should see is an X. Your arms should be completely crossed. The middle of your forearms should be where the X crosses. Not your wrists, or your elbows, but the middle of your forearms.

Now, if you don’t see that X, it means you are blocking the ball, and not releasing correctly. You’re also giving up a ton of power and distance. Check out “The Simple Golf Swing” and the Johnny Miller Video below:
How to Improve Your Golf Swing Today
I know you have heard the entire how to’s about holding you club, your golf swing, placing of your feet, down swing, follow through and the list goes on and on. Right? Well I don’t know about you but every time I read an article about one of the above my game took a big turn. Not necessarily for the better. So here’s hoping that my little article turns out better than those.
I would just like to add a mental aspect to the game. I have been accused of being mental about the game but that’s not what I mean. What I want to talk about is how you think about not just your golf swing, but each and every shot you make. I would be willing to bet that you and I have a hard time being positive about our ability to strike the ball. Also where the ball is going or any one of a thousand things that could go wrong with the shot. Do you think Tiger has all that negative energy going on during his golf swing? I think not.
I like to use Tiger as an example because he is such talent and so good for and too the game of golf. There is no way he steps up to the ball and thinks about the last bad shot he made. He is not thinking of any of the things he could do wrong because he knows he is better than that. I don’t know Tiger but I am willing to bet that most of his address and setup is automatic. He is thinking of where he wants to put the shot and how good he will feel and has felt the last great shot he made.
That is the trick! The mind is the world’s greatest computer. Just like any other computer if you tell it what you want, and think about how you felt the last time you made the shot (like striking the ball to the green) your mind will make the needed adjustments by sending out the needed commands to your body.
Does that mean you can forget about the basics? No. You already know the basics. What you need to do is find a way to put them all to work when you need them. So, you have made a good or even great pitch in the past and your mind has recorded that action. What I am telling you is this, once you have physically set yourself for the shot, remember how you felt the last time you made it. This will complete the process and will keep your mind busy with a positive thought. It will also replay, in your mind, the last good pitch you made. Signals will be sent from your brain to your body. You will want to feel that way again and your body will respond positively.
Does this sound a little goofy? Well it works; remember the mind is never blank….if it was….how would you know? Think about it the correct mind set can go a long way. Learn more about your swing and launch your drives

How to Plan a Golf Holiday:
How to Have a Really “Swinging” Time
For the really ardent golfer, vacation plans will usually include the desire to get in at least a couple rounds of golf. And the possibility of getting to play golf in a new and exotic place can be very exciting indeed. But, how do you plan these fabulous golf holidays so that the trip is smooth and uneventful?
Checking with a golf-pro might be a very good place to start. Some of them are surprisingly well traveled and may have some solid suggestions for good courses, as well as the amenities in the surrounding areas. If the pro does not, start talking to the other members of your club, consider every conversation to be a networking opportunity. If that does not turn up the right information, do some research on your own utilizing the Internet, and then compare what you find with a certified, licensed travel agent. Use the basic, no-frills prices that you find on your own as the starting point, and then see what kind of comparable prices the agent can find for you. Some resorts can only be booked by agencies, and some agents will have exclusive deals that can beat the web deals by a serious amount.
Once you have an idea of how much you are willing to spend for your vacation, you must decide how much golf will be actually played. Are you only choosing a destination for the golfing opportunities alone, or do you want to see some shows or tour historic sites as well? The world has many top-rated golf courses to offer, but there are other things to consider as well. How many people will be coming with you? What is the makeup of that group? Are you going with your family, for instance? Walt Disney’s various resorts offers excellent, top ranked golf, something to consider if part of your group will be the under ten age group. If you are the only golfer, your partner can visit the park attractions with the kids while you are golfing. Of course, there are other resorts to consider as well, and some are “adults only” if that is of any interest to you.
No matter what location you decide on, or what type of resort, once you make your final travel plans, make sure that you take the extra time to find out what all is included in your “all inclusive” resort, including whether you will need to bring your own clubs, and exactly how much that will cost, and what the dress codes are for each portion of the day. Some resorts will have strict golf clothing rules, as well as a dress code for the more formal meals of the day, and you will want to avoid looking like a fool.

Golf Holiday Resorts:
Ready, Travel, Fore!
There are resorts in nearly every corner of the world, focusing on nearly every sport, activity and hobby. Golf is one of the world’s most popular sports, with players taking up the sport in record numbers each and every single year. Golf resorts can be found nearly anywhere you could imagine, and offer vacations suitable for golfers at every level of the game.
Resorts can offer varying amenities, from the golf only resorts that have ties to nearby, local hotels all the way to the all-inclusive golf resorts that feature their own hotels, usually within walking distance to the first tee. For these inclusive resorts, there may be more of demand, especially in the more tropical areas of the world, so make sure you book your trip early enough to avoid disappointment. If an all-inclusive resort it out of your price range, however, you can select a hotel relatively close to the course you would like to play and then make some compromises. The goal is to goal in a tropical locale, right? Of course, some courses are not public, so before you make plans that are not for an all-inclusive resort, find out if there are courses available for play.
Make sure that you pack well for your trip, even if heading to an all-inclusive resort. The prices for sunblock and other necessities can be triple or higher what you would expect, so plan ahead. Also make sure that you know what kind of clothing is acceptable or necessary for different activities. Some of the golf courses will require certain outfits for both male and female golfers, as well as formal wear for the evening meals. Your travel agent can answer any questions that you might have. If you have planned and booked this trip entirely on your own to reduce cost, then a quick email to the resort itself is warranted. If it is a question of what to bring or what you will be expected to wear, the staff will be more than happy to assist you. If not, you might want to reconsider your trip to this resort.
Finally, take advantage of all of the golf amenities that are offered at the resort. If there are lessons for instance, sign up for them. Who could not afford to improve their swing and therefore, their golf game? Unless you are Tiger Woods, you could use the extra help.

Ball Test/2008
I had decided to go our and buy new golf balls. If your reading this I’m sure that you understand that equipment is you game……maybe. I researched golf balls and found this post on Golf Test USA That is http://www.golftestusa.com . Both of the links will get you there.
This is some great information if you want to make sure the golf ball is not keeping you from par.
Another year, another miracle has occurred. We have finally completed our annual ball test. The logistics involved in getting ball companies to send the balls is always tenuous. We expanded the group of testers who played a round of golf with each ball in the test to 80 golfers. We felt this gives us a better base from which to evaluate each ball and offers more statistically sound ratings.
In the past year many new balls have been introduced. In this test we had 13 balls from 7 manufacturers. Once again we were not able to get Titleist to participate. We sent Titleist many emails and left several phone messages at their ball division and were promised a response but in the end no one from Titleist ever contacted us. We spoke with top management at TaylorMade and they indicated they would participate but once again they backed out. We never got a return call from Callaway which is surprising because their balls did so well in last years test.
Ball Test Format
We asked each golfer to play one round with each ball and to be as fair and consistent as they could be in evaluating each of the balls. They promised to do their best and to put aside any preconceived biases they may have had regarding the balls in the test. We understand that golfers can have good days and bad days but we are confident that by having 80 golfers evaluate each ball that the final average results are a good indication of how each ball is perceived by golfers.
Here are the balls that were included in the test:
Bridgestone B330-S
Bridgestone e6+
Wilson Staff Fifty
Nike Karma
Wilson Staff ZIP
Nike One Black
Nike One Platinum
GolfAmerica Eagle Pro
Dixon EARTH
Nike Ignite
Innovex E-MOTION
Neutron Crystal
Bridgestone B330-RX
Following are some ratings; conclusions and observations GolfTest USA made using the results obtained from the test.
Distance: The Bridgestone Tour B330-S and the Bridgestone Tour B330-RX were rated as the best balls for distance.
Control: Again the Bridgestone Tour B330-S and the Bridgestone Tour B330-RX were the best in this category.
Accuracy: The best balls for accuracy were the Nike ONE Platinum, Nike ONE Black and the Bridgestone Tour B330-RX.
Putting: The top putting honors go to the Innovex E-MOTION and the Wilson Staff ZIP.
Short Game: Best balls for your short game were the Bridgestone Tour B330-RX and the Nike One Black.
Feel: The top rated balls for feel were the Bridgestone Tour B330-RX, Nike One Black and the Bridgestone Tour B330-S.
Appearance: The top rated ball in Appearance was the Chromax Neutron. The color of the ball in this test was yellow which may account for the high rating.
Durability: The Neutron Crystal also proved to be the “toughest”.
Trajectory: The Bridgestone e6+ and the Nike ONE Platinum rated best for “Trajectory”.
Overall: (This rating is not an accumulation or average of the other categories. We asked the testers to take into account everything they look for and feel is important to them in a ball and give an overall rating.)
Overall, the Bridgestone Tour B330-RX rated the best at 8.5 which we believe is the first time a ball has received that high of a rating. It was very obvious that Bridgestone has a real winner with the Tour B330-RX.
We want to make a special mention regarding the Dixon EARTH ball. It is the only “green” golf ball on the market and golfers should give it consideration when choosing a ball.
After each tester played and rated all 13 balls, they picked which balls they thought were the top four in the test. The Bridgestone Tour B330-RX got 25% of the first place votes, the Nike ONE Black, Wilson Staff ZIP, and Bridgestone B330-S each received 15% of the first place votes while the Innovex E-Motion got 10%.
When all votes were counted from 1st to 4th place (We gave 1 point for 4th place on up to 4 points for a 1st place vote) the Bridgestone Tour B330-RX finished on top followed by the Nike ONE Black and Bridgestone Tour B330-S.
We have looked very carefully at all the results from many different angles and are making this unscientific judgment and taking the liberty of ranking what we think were the top balls in this test. We came to the conclusion that the Bridgestone Tour B330-RX deserved to be ranked #1. The following balls deserve a strong honorable mention. Bridgestone Tour B330-S, Nike ONE Platinum, Wilson Staff ZIP, Nike ONE Black. The Innovex E-MOTION proved to be the real sleeper in the test getting strong ratings across the board.
We are leaving it up to golfers to draw their own conclusions as to how the price of the balls relates to how each ball did in this test. We welcome your thoughts regarding the results of this ball test. Please feel free to post your comments on our “Message Boards”.
