Once women were allowed the right to pursue golf as a hobby, and yes, even as a career, the outfits that they were expected to wear was restrictive, uncomfortable and honestly, God awful ugly. Stiff material, overly long skirts and blouses that went right up to the chin made a woman's swing short, choppy and of little use to her. Once she broke out of the prison of her horrible clothing, women golfers proved that they could swing just as well and nearly as far as the average man.]]></description>

The Scots imported the balls from across the North Sea by the barrel-load. This record goes back as far as 1496 and what were these balls made of? They apparently were made of wood. More like a small croquet ball than a golf ball.]]></description>
